Gabrielle Vail Conducts Workshops on the Madrid Codex in Tahcabo and Tizimin!

PACOY (Proyecto Arqueológico Colaborativo del Oriente de Yucatán), InHerit, and the Alliance for Cultural Heritage are happy to be sponsoring workshops in the communities of Tahcabo and Tizimín, Yucatán, on the ancient Maya codices. We are lucky enough to be hosting Dr. Gabrielle Vail, professor of Anthropology at New College, Florida, and the University of Florida, who is sharing her expertise on the Maya codices, calendar, and hieroglyphs with people who live near to where the texts were likely originally written. She provided an interactive workshop including glyph decipherment at the local high school in Tahcabo, the community where PACOY conducts archaeological research.

Thank you, Dr. Vail!
